Dart

Dart is a Percheron, Thoroughbred cross. He is our biggest therapy horse. Dart was donated to our program so that we could continue to give lessons to our ever-growing riders! Dart likes to moan and groan throughout the lessons (making his riders laugh) to let us know he thinks he's working too hard but will happily take on extra lessons if needed. He has a handsome face that draws everyone in to pet him. Dart is owned by Athelas Therapeutic Riding Inc.

Cosmo

Cosmo is Percheron, Thoroughbred cross. He was donated to the program by Tish Roach and has been a huge asset. Cosmo's background is dressage training which has been very beneficial to our more independent riders. He is a steady ride and has very comfortable walk, trot, and canter gaits. Due to his larger size, his movements are big which allows for more sensory input for his riders. Cosmo has a special trick he uses to ask for treats. He makes a "spitting" noise with his lips and it is so funny! His riders love to hear and see him ask for treats! Cosmo is owned by Athelas Therapeutic Riding Inc.

Pistol

Pistol is our oldest therapy horse as he is well into his twenties. He is a quarter horse who spent his previous life chasing cows and going on trail rides. Pistol doesn’t know that he is in his twenties and can be a little frisky on cold winter mornings! One of Pistols favorite things is giving pony rides at our fall festival! He loves all of the kids and the chaos and the more attention he gets the happier he is!

Misty

Misty is a teenage Haflinger and is the shortest of all of our horses. However, she makes up for her small size with her HUGE personality! Misty though small, is very strong and often carries our heaviest riders who need the most trunk support. Her smaller height allows her side walkers to easily assist her riders as needed. Misty loves treats and always checks her leader's pockets for any treats they may have forgotten to give her! She also loves her pasture mates Billy and Folly and can often be heard calling to them during lessons making sure they are not having too much fun without her.

Peaches

Peaches is the newest horse in our therapy program! She is a quarter horse cross in her teens and is just the sweetest peach we have ever met! Peaches loves our smaller riders, and she loves to take them on trail rides. She carefully makes her way up and down hills and never puts a foot wrong.
